An in-class assignment that I did for painting class. The students had to bring a photo/picture to class, paint a piece of someone else's photo and bring out a feeling to the painting of your chosen picture.
I happened to get a picture of a fox and to be honest, I didn't feel anything good when I looked at the photo. The image was dull in my opinion and I am not overly obsessed with foxes (Not hate them). I guess it's because I haven't seen a fox in real life and even though some people are fascinated with this animal, but I don't have that interest in foxes.
So that is why the painting is crummy and quite dull, although I do like the wide arrange of colours and how I handled with the paint in this particular painting.

It actually looks pretty good on its own. I know it's hard not to compare it to the original photo.
I'm in a painting class myself at the moment, and I find that even painting a picture of objects I chose just isn't as much fun as painting from the imagination.
